the Descendants of Prophecy series

Descendants began as three standalone one-shot stories, starting with Noble. Noble follows Isobel, a headstrong princess determined to find her missing brother just two weeks before her coronation.

Each story—Noble, Divinity, and Ambivalence (all works in progress)—offered different character perspectives. Their themes, world-building, and character arcs became closely intertwined, eventually making it clear that these stories needed to be combined. Over time, I realized their world naturally overlapped with Finnigan’s Land from The Sons of Prophecy series, which led to the merging of both series into a cohesive universe.

Originally conceived in 2013 and inspired by Disney’s Frozen, the project was revisited in 2017. By 2023, it evolved into the planned sequel series to its predecessor.

Divinity was the final story added to the lineup. It follows the governor’s daughter, who enlists the help of a notorious pirate captain to deliver an ominous warning to her brother.

When her father denies her passage to the neighboring kingdom, the captain grants her access—but at a price.

Divinity

Conceptualized in 2013, Noble follows Isobel, whose brother Klaus has gone missing.

With little concern from her council and kingdom, and only his childhood friend as a lead, she defies duty to uncover the truth—just two weeks before her coronation.

Noble

When a mysterious stranger from an distant land confirms her suspicions, the queen’s world is turned upside down. To save her kingdom, the once-manipulated monarch must rise in defiance against the very deity who bestowed her powers—challenging fate itself.

Ambivalence

Character Design

The characters’ designs embody their distinct personalities while maintaining elegance. Isobel’s design is intentionally simple, reflecting her athleticism and practicality. Another character’s design is elegant and dainty, shaped by her sheltered upbringing. The final character’s look is fiery and bold, mirroring the nature of her powers. Aside from Isobel, the other characters remain unnamed.

All three are depicted in undergarments to allow for additional fashion development later.

it begins with Isobel

Noble originated as a concept between a former friend and me back in 2013. We dreamed of “making our own Disney movie,” but creative differences led to the idea being shelved. In 2017, while studying character design in university, I revisited Isobel’s character and began reshaping her design. This sparked a surge of new ideas and storytelling.

Through significant changes and expanded creative control, Isobel became entirely my own creation—distinct from anything Disney would have done. Although my friend and I no longer communicate, I appreciate the role she played in the character’s initial conception.
